Aspect 2: More Fishing Talk
Once the book is finished, there's always more that comes in. Here's some supplementary entries from author David Butcher.
Net-barrow: a wooden platform, like a small litter, with handles at either end and four short legs, which was used to transport longshore (q.v.) fishing gear.
Tired voyage: a fishing season that involved a lot of hard work and little sleep. It was term mainly applied to seine-netting for haddock on the Dogger Bank, to the Milford Haven longlining for conger and to trawling for soles out of Padstow.
