I Read it in the Local Rag

I Read it in the Local Rag is a collection of items from the newspapers of Norfolk and Suffolk from the period 1701 to 1900. The two activity pages are designed to give further support to those using the book, perhaps in an educational context.

Activity 1: The Newspapers of East Anglia

This page gives a list of some of the newspapers of East Anglia featured in the book and a map of the places.

Activity 2: Three Score and Ten

The song Three Score and Ten is mentioned in the book. It was written after the great storm of February 1889, when a large number of fishing vessels were lost off the east coast. This page has some more information about the events and you can listen to the song.
